A beneﬁts-eligible employee requires working 40 hours or more per week (.50 FTE) and is expected to be active for
more than six months.
Faculty must be employed at .50 FTE or more and be on a 12-month or longer contract in order to be eligible for paid
If staff has been in government 15 years or more, can work 10 hours per week to quality for leave beneﬁts.
Leave accrual is pro-rated for reduced FTE.
Leave is pro-rated according to contract hours.
Paid leave beneﬁts are prorated by FTE for part-time faculty.
People who work 20 hours per week earn 1/2 leave beneﬁts.
This applies to both academic and staff employees.
