SHARED STEWARDSHIP: JOURNALS
Over the past two decades, the backfiles of many academic journals have been digitized and made available online. Some librarians
believe that it remains important to maintain print versions of these digitized journal backfiles, either at their own institutions, or in a
way that is accessible for community use when needed. Below is a list of some reasons that print versions of well-digitized, digitally
preserved scholarly journal backfiles might need to be preserved and maintained.
18. Please indicate how important, if at all, each of these reasons is to your library, regardless of
whether your library itself has elected to deaccession print journals. Please make one selection per
row. N=50
