Penn is committed to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards in research endeavors and
ensures investigators are educated in “best practices.” The Senior Vice Provost for Research encourages all Penn
constituents to take advantage of the University’s RCR training opportunities. See, Research Related Training.
RCR training is mandated for undergraduates, graduate students and
postdoctoral fellows and faculty funded by National Institutes of Health
(NIH RCR Notice) training grants and career awards. RCR training is
also required for undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral
fellows funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF RCR Notice).
Depending on your school affiliation, career stage and type of funding,
you may be required to complete an on-line RCR course offered by
Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI), as well as participate
in other program-specific types of training. You should always consult
your mentor for specific training requirements.
